How do I change what a button does?

Simply click the button, or right click and choose configure.  This will pop up the configure button dialog.  If you then change what is contained in the pull down action list, it changes the function of the button when you press OK.

You can also configure the pop-up text that is displayed when the cursor hovers over the button in this dialog.
