Setting up a New Artist and Entering Stock

To do this, open an existing artist template, like the one named anthony-wieser.layout in the sample site. When you do this, you may get a warning that the file has been moved. If you do, choose yes, to allow the references to other files to be relocated. Next, choose File | Save As... and save the file to a new file with the name of your choice. We recommend you use the artist's name, separated by hyphens.

The name you choose should be the same as the one you entered in the Link Name field on the artists page in the previous step.

Enter any additional information about the artist

Click the "More Show Details" button, and enter any further description of the artist that you wish to publish.

Insert new works of art

Click on the list of images. Then press the Insert button on your keyboard. That will insert a new entry with the same artist name as was previosly selected.

1. Now press ALT+A or click on the artist field, and type in the name of the new artist.
2. Then type in the title of the work in the title entry field.
3. Add a description of the work.
4. Add the dimensions of the work.
5. Add the year of the work, if appropriate.
6. Add the price.
7. Now choose an image by double clicking the rectangular image area to the right of the title field, and browse for a representative image of the artists work on your hard disk.
8. Finally, enter a name for the link. This helps search engines determine relevant content. Again, try not to include any spaces in this name. If you wish to use multiple words, use hyphen characters (-) instead.

Repeat this step for each image.

Delete works you no longer need

To do this, simply highlight the line you no longer require, and press the delete button.

Publish

Choose Publish... from the File menu.

You will be prompted for your FTP password, and then the software will upload the rest of your website. The list works of the artist will be in a folder on your website named artists in a subfolder with the name of the artist, as in www.example.com/artists/anthony-wieser, and the links to the artist will be live from the artists page.
