Select the Templates

To generate your exhibition, a series of files are processed, and the macros contained in them are substituted for the values you entered in the program.

Some of the templates are processed only once for each exhibition. Examples of what might be in these templates are:

These files are processed a single time, and should not generally include item references. You can process files other than htm files, for instance, you may want to automatically process a .htaccess file to redirect the active pages on your site.

Other templates are processed for every item in the show. The intention is that these are the detailed pages for each item in the exhibition.

Selecting files to process

In either the process once or process for each image section, you can perform the following actions:

Special Features of Files to Process Once

Files that are processed once can include the special macro, <@SHOWITEMS#...@>. More details of this can be found on the templates page.

Special Features of Files to Process for Each Image

If a filename begins with the hypen character, the resulting file is named using the LINKNAME field from the item. The filename is generated by taking whatever is in the linkname field, and appending the name of the template, including the hypen.

If the filename does not begin with a hyphen, a two digit number is added between the end of the template item and before the last dot in the filename.
