Getting Started

Art Gallery Website Creator works by allowing you to define a top level index page, which contains a set of items, each of which link to an item page. Because of this hierarchical structure, you can create any website structure you desire, with links between the pages.

The program works by processing template files based which contain the static portions of your websites, and special sequences of symbols that indicate to the program where the varying data should be inserted. To read more about templates click the preceding link.

Describing your Show

The top portion of the program displays items that apply to your show as a whole, and does not vary with each item. This includes items like the title of the show, the dates, and the artists in your show, along with an image to be used. To find out how to set up the show click the preceding link

Adding the items to your show

The bottom portion of the program lists each item in your show. You can add descriptions, prices, and a long description for each item in the show. You can also add images, which can be automatically resized by the program to a consistent size and format. To find out how to work with items click the preceding link.

Generating the files for your website

Once you have entered all of the data in the program, (or at any point before that, if you're curious) you can generate the files for your website, with a simple button press. To find out more about website generation click the link.
